# Another mailbox

Other mailboxes that mail apps reach over IMAP connect to Multi Mail with their address and password.

Multi Mail finds GMX, WEB.DE, mail.com, Zoho, GoDaddy, Titan, Namecheap, Hostinger, IONOS and OVHcloud from the address alone, at their own domains or yours. Any other mail server is found from your domain, or from the settings you type.

## Add it to Claude

1. [Add to Claude](https://claude.ai/directory/connectors/multi-mail) - Opens claude.ai - press Connect there.
2. Sign in, add your mailbox and approve Claude in the window Claude opens - choose Another mailbox, type the address and paste its password when it asks.
3. Ask Claude about your mail

## Limits

- Multi Mail reaches no filters or vacation responder on these mailboxes.
- The mail servers have to take an encrypted connection on port 993, 143, 465 or 587, at a public IPv4 address.
- Yahoo and AOL addresses connect only once Yahoo approves Lumman's access to their mail. Yandex and Mail.ru addresses do not connect.

## Technical details

- Mail servers: Found from the address, or the ones you type
- Login: Your whole address, or the username you type, and the mailbox's password or an app password
- Check: Both servers accept the password before the mailbox is added
- Stored: The password, encrypted under a key held outside the database
- Mail: No copy kept - read from the mailbox on each call
- Removing it: Disconnecting deletes our copy of the password, which works until you change or delete it at the mail service.
- Offered: 29 of the 35 - no settings_filters_list, settings_filters_create, settings_filters_update, settings_filters_delete, settings_get_vacation or settings_update_vacation
